Sonny grew up in Knutby but currently lives in Uppsala with his partner Sarah, son Eli and Flat Coated Retriever Smilla. Sonny has worked as a teacher for several years but now he works at Alewalds in Uppsala, where he sells skis and skates. His earlier sporting career was previously primarily focused on hockey, although many more different sports are included in his resume. His strength in the team is his flexibility as he can jump in at any position. The longer races are usually the stronger he will be. He is also the team's top Rocadillo driver. Sonny’s spare time is spent mostly with his family ice skating on the lakes around Uppsala.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Knutby, but I have lived in Gimo, Funäsdalen and Åre.

Idols?

It has always been my dad, Gunde Svan and Börje Salming.

What was your first Adventure race?

It was the Åre Extreme Challenge in 2002.

Little known / unlikely fact about yourself?

Is a positive time optimist...

What you will do when your knees finally give out?

There are so many other things to do asides running around, so I’m not too worried!

Worst Adventure racing experience?

No special but there are a number of bicycle routes where we could have left the bike in the transition instead of endless hours of hike-a-bike!

Biggest "blow"?

During the High Coast 600, there are so many weird but fun experiences to pick events from.
-Looking for 6 h after a checkpoint that was in the wrong place
-Refusing to go straight through a paddock to avoid the cows (Actually there were none at all)
-Navigating to the wrong mountain top
-Hanna had to carry all the packing for me and Mike when we got tired. (I myself have no recollection of the event)

Favourite Adventure Racing food?

Chocolate Balls

Best support crew moment?

In the car home from France when me and Mike ate a whole slab of Pringles chips. The team had pulled out so there was quite a lot of food and candy left.
