I’ve had 4 great weeks of vacation after the Swedish champs in Ljungdalen, both from my work and from racing. As always, vacation where over way to fast…
Two weeks in Kråkberg and Hemavan running in the mountains, organising Icebug24 and catching (a few) fishes. The only advantage of having a small (though superhard working) crew organising a 24 hour rogaine event is that I got more than 20 hours of mountain running putting out and taking back checkpoints!
Anyway, tomorrow it is time to race again. Me and Jossa are in Björkliden, far north of the polar circle. Tomorrow is the start of the Björkliden Arctic Mountain Marathon (www.bamm.nu). 2 days of running and navigating in the mountains, carrying a backpack with tent, stove, sleepingbag, clothes and food for two days. Great fun! I think this is the 10th time I will start this race and this is also where my adventure racing carrier started a long time ago!
I normally run this race (and many more races the last 10 years!) together with Micke Andersson. This year he wanted to test his capacity on the mountainbike instead and I had to find a new teammate. As neither Aaron, Mattias or Robert was free for the weekend, I was lucky that Daniel Hansson (FJS) wanted to race with me. Normally we race as competitors, even though we actually ran together in the OMM (UK) in 2007. Daniel is both superstrong and very experienced, can hardly think of a better substitute to Micke.
Josefina will also be racing BAMM, together with Jonas Westling (IKSU Multisport), as the last years.
Now sleep!
