I was more tired than expected from the swedish champs last weekend, felt more like I had been racing a full multi day adventure race than “only 24 hour”. Not sure if I should blame the race course, the weather or my always strong team mate who never let me rest. Probably a combination…
Anyway, started up training yesterday with a social 3 hour road bike ride together with ski-friends Johan and Andreas, mostly nice easy pace but as always a furious sprint up the Rödtjärn mountain…
Today, Andreas joined me for an amazing early morning kayak from our place. The ocean was totally calm and we could easily have kayaked to Finland, if time scheduale would have allowed us.
BTW, a few minutes into this great training session my rudder wire broke. Luckely Andreas had some tape in his lifejacket so that we could fix it. Pretty happy this did not happened in the big waves in Ljungdalen last weekend!
Tomorrow we head towards the mountains again. Putting out and taking back checkpoints for the Icebug 24 hour rogaine, picking cloudberries, playing with my fishing rod and spending some time outside the reach of cellphones and computers.
Enjoy summer. At least that is what I will continue to do!
