The team had a good start in the Wulong with 2 min 15 sec to leading team NZ adventure. The prologue started with 2km running and then 1km chair carrying the Chinese way. Next section was bike and run where two team members run and the other two use the bike. The fourth section was mountainbiking on a dirt-road finishing on fast downhill on asphalt. Finally there was a 1 km run to the finish.

The team after finish, Mattias, Scott, Robert and Josefina. Happy to have glasses on the muddy biking section downhill.
Tomorrow (Sunday) waits the first of the three long stages. Tomorrow’s stage consist of the following:
The race starts in a deep canyon. The first leg is running 6km before we reach the kayaks. After 8 km of kayking there is MTB-section of 9km, but with a steep climb. After a short stop for shooting with blow pipe, the MTB continues with 33 km of faster biking mostly on sealed roads before we reach the last section, running/caving. The cave is expected to be running and swimming in complete darkness, good to have bright waterproof headlamps! After we exit the cave there will be an abseil before we run into finish.
We have now prepared all equipment for tomorrow and will take a short rest before dinner and a good night sleep. Tomorrow’s stage is expected to take about 6h.
